Who would have thought that I would become an adoptive mother? Certainly not me. Yes, you read that right. My husband and I are hopeful adoptive parents. We are anticipating, if all goes well, our adoption to finalize before the end of the years (Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to us!)
Sometimes I want to come outside of this broken down little home I've made on the far side of Adoptionland, this house I've barricaded myself into so no one can get in, and more importantly, so my uncontrolled rage can't get out and do anymore harm.
We will always seek ways to undo what was done; to mend that thread that was broken and now is tied back together but, like a poorly laced shoe, continues to come unraveled and needs constant attention.
